Code of conduct
How we treateach other.
Joining a Gay Social Club means agreeing to this. It applies at every event, in every city, to members, hosts and guests alike.
Everyone belongs here
Our clubs are for the whole LGBTQIA+ community and our allies. Racism, transphobia, biphobia, femmephobia, ableism, ageism, body shaming and serophobia end a membership - no warnings needed.
Consent is the baseline
Ask before you touch, take no for an answer the first time, and don't photograph or post anyone without their say-so. Flirting is fine; pressure isn't.
Look after the newcomer
Somebody in the room is at their first event and probably nervous. Say hello, make space in the circle, ask a question. That's the whole culture.
Respect the host
Hosts are working. Follow their lead on timings, venues and group moves, and let them know if something feels off.
Know your limit
Drinking is optional at every event and plenty of members don't. Anyone who is unsafe to themselves or others will be asked to leave.
Respect the venue
We're guests. Venues that host us do it because our members behave well and tip properly.
Speak up
If something happens, tell your host on the night or email us afterwards. Reports are handled privately and we act on them.
Breaches can result in removal from an event or cancellation of membership without refund. We'd rather lose a member than lose the room.
