Being out isn't the same everywhere, and being on a list matters. Here's exactly what we hold and how it's handled.
What we collect
Your name, email, city, membership and RSVP history, and any preferences or access needs you tell us about. Payment card details are handled by our payment provider and never stored by us.
Sensitive information
Being a member of an LGBTQIA+ club can imply information about you that deserves extra care. We treat membership data as sensitive: it is never sold, never used for advertising targeting, and never shared with third parties for their own marketing.
How we use it
To run your membership and events, take payment, send event details and host introductions, keep members safe, and improve the clubs. We email you about your own club - you can opt out of non-essential email anytime.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers we need to operate: payment processing, email delivery, and our own hosting and database infrastructure. Hosts see the first name and RSVP status of members attending their event, and any access needs relevant to running it.
Where it's stored
Data is stored on managed cloud infrastructure and may be processed outside your country. Wherever it's held, it's protected by encryption in transit and access controls limited to staff who need it.
How long we keep it
For as long as you're a member and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, tax and safety obligations. You can ask us to delete your account data at any time.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your personal information, and complain to your local privacy regulator - the Office of the Privacy Commissioner in New Zealand, or the OAIC in Australia. Visit https://socialclubsupport.group/ to make a request.
Photos at events
We sometimes photograph events. Tell your host if you don't want to be photographed and we'll respect it - no explanation needed. We never publish a photo we've been asked not to.
